COVID-19 Update: April 01, 2021
As you may have heard, the Province of Ontario is set to enter a 4-week (at least), Province-wide, emergency brake shutdown at 12:01 am on Saturday, April 3. We would also invite you to read the Province’s new release. What does this mean for your Place of Worship? To help support you, we recently re-updated our guidance document for Places of Worship which offers information about public health measures required in each colour of the Provincial framework, the necessary operational guidance needed to reduce risks, as well as links to useful resources.
We also thought it may be useful to highlight the occupancy limits during the Province-wide Emergency Brake shutdown for Places of Worship, which are slightly different than those in the Grey-Lockdown level:
As per Ontario Regulation 82/20
**Religious services rites or ceremonies, including wedding services and funeral services (but not receptions), in all venues, where physical distancing can be maintained
Indoor -** 15% of a room, including staff **
Outdoor -** As many as can maintain physical distance of 2 metres (6 feet) from every other person, except from their caregiver or members of the person’s household
As per Ontario Regulation 82/20
**Organized public events and social gatherings (e.g. receptions held at Places of Worship, or social gatherings associated with a wedding, a funeral or a religious service, rite or ceremony held at private residences, backyards, or parks)
Indoor -** Not permitted***
Outdoor -** 5***** people maximum
Does not apply with respect to a gathering of members of a single household, or a gathering that includes members of a household and one other person from outside that household who lives alone.
